Transfer rumours to surface this week from Fratton Park have an attacking flavour about them, with a vast array of strikers being linked with the club.

A player that has been widely linked with a number of clubs is West Hamís Bobby Zamrora. The Mirror claims that Portsmouth are interested in taking the 27-year old either on loan or on a permanent move.

The rumours that Sol Campbell could be joining Kevin Keegan at Newcastle United persist this week. However Harry Redknapp has ruled this move out as he attempts to bring Shola Ameobi from St. Jamesí Park to Pompey. (Newcastle Evening Chronicle) If Ameobi does join Portsmouth it could be a very good move for the striker who has struggled to maintain a regular first-team place over the past couple of seasons with all his injury troubles. Redknapp has a canny knack of changing the fortunes of struggling strikers, with Kanu rejuvenated under the Pompey boss and Benjani improving all the time.

Various sources report that Peter Crouch is still a top target for Redknapp and that he has been urged to quit Liverpool to return to the south coast club for regular first-team football. With Fabio Capello forming his England squad very soon, Crouch will be looking to impress the new coach regularly, even if this means moving away from Anfield.

As reported last week, former Chelsea striker Meteja Kezman has been linked with a move to Portsmouth. This rumour persists again this week, but Pompey may face competition from Tottenham Hotspur, who have also declared an interest in the Fenerbache forward. The fee would be approximately £5million according to The Guardian.

A potential move for England Under 21 international, Leroy Lita, may be off now due to Readingís price tag being way above interested clubís valuation of the striker. Middlesbrough, Portsmouth and Sunderland all showed an interest, but the £7million price tag seemed a little steep. (The Times)

Another transfer that hangs in the balance is that of Milan Baros of Lyon. The ex Liverpool and Aston Villa striker could be returning back to England after just a year in France. The Times reports that it will be a loan signing initially, but Baros has yet to make up his mind about the potential move. Meanwhile, former Czech international midfielder, Patrik Berger has been linked with a move from Aston Villa to Portsmouth. (Various)

Celtic left-back Lee Naylor may be returning to English football with Pompey. The former Wolverhampton Wanderers player has been rumoured to be joining for a fee of £2.5million according to the Daily Express.

The Mail and The Times both suggest that Sean Davisí 2 year stint at the club may be coming to an end with Everton ready to offer £2million for the out-of-favour midfielder.
