William Hill have reported that they have slashed the odds on Graeme Souness being named as next Leeds manager following a series of bets of the former Newcastle boss.  According to Hills his price has fallen from 6/1 to 13/8, and he is now second favourite behind Dennis Wise.

Souness has had a chequered career as a manager with some success as a manager in Turkey and Portugal, plenty of success with Rangers - but a generally poor time at his English clubs, Southampton, Liverpool, Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle United.  Souness is vastly experienced and if Leeds are looking for an experienced man to get them out of trouble and to offer them some stability for a couple of years then a Souness appointment starts to make some sense.

But he isn't the name on many fans' shortlists.

"We have seen some serious money for Souness, almost all of which has come from the Leeds area, including a £2000 bet at 9/4. But whoever takes the job on is up against it as Leeds are now 5/2 to be relegated."

Said William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams.

Next Leeds Manager:

10/11: D Wise,
13/8: G Souness
7/2: G Mcallister
7/1: J Royle, G Hoddle
10/1: G Strachan
14/1: K Keegan, A Curbishley
16/1: N Worthington, J Carver
25/1: R Gullitt
33/1: C Ranieri, B Kerr, A Mcleish
40/1: N Warnock
