Sporting Index have introduced a Premiership relegation market for the 2007/08 season with 60 points to the team finishing bottom of the table, 40 to the second bottom side, 30 to the third bottom side, 20 to the fourth bottom side, 10 to the fifth bottom side, 5 to the sixth bottom side and 0 to everyone else.
Wigan Athletic avoided the drop on the final day last season and Sporting Index give them a quote of 22-25 points.
If you think the Latics are destined for a poor season then buy at 25. If you buy at £2 a point and Chris Hutchings' side finish one place off the bottom of the Premiership (40 points) then you will cash in to the tune of £30 (15 points profit X your stake). If however they end up once again in 17th (fourth bottom - 20 points) you would lose £10 (55 points loss X your stake).
If you think Jason Koumas will inspire the Lancastrians then sell at 22. If you buy for £2 a point and Wigan end up clear of the bottom six (0 points) then you will profit to the tune of £44 (22 points profit X your stake). However, doing a Charlton and finishing 19th (second bottom - 40 points) will cause you to lose £36 (18 points loss X your stake).
