Ronaldo or Torres in the red match?

Manchester United go into today's match with Liverpool as slight favourites, as much for their recent dominance in the fixture and their respective league positions as anything.  On recent form Liverpool would probably be slight favourites and much of that is down to their prolific Spanish striker, Fernando Torres.  Torres is scoring in bunches at the minute - as all good strikers do and it is unwise to suggest when that run will turn.  What makes this fixture fascinating is that United have a winger who is as prolific and has three goals in the last week, and 33 for the season.  Cristiano Ronaldo and Fernando Torres both posses quick feet and blistering pace - it may be worth backing both to score today as at least one seems certain to bag.

Ronaldo Goal Minutes sell 20, buy 23
Ronaldo is the favourite goalscorer at every bookmaker, and as he takes free-kicks and penalties as well as making direct runs at goals there is little reason to suggest that he won't score.

Example: 3pt buy Ronaldo goal minutes at 23
No goals: you lose 69pts
Ronaldo scores after 45 minutes: You win 66pts
Ronaldo scores after 30 and 60 minutes: You win 201pts
Ronaldo scores after 30, 60 and 90 minutes: You win 471pts
and so on

Torres Goal Minutes sell 14, buy 17
Torres is better value than Ronaldo, and has scored more heavily in recent weeks.  If Rio Ferdinand fails a fitness test then expect Torres to try and isolate Brown or Pique and generate at couple of chances with his quick feet.

Example: 3pt buy Torres goal minutes at 17
No goals: you lose 51pts
Torres scores after 45 minutes: You win 84pts
Torres scores after 30 and 60 minutes: You win 219pts
Torres scores after 30, 60 and 90 minutes: You win 489pts
and so on
