Middlesbrough relativity placing October 2007

19. (19) Middlesbrough: -8.0pts

Three straight and fairly comprehensive defeats for Boro in October don't help - but considering that they were playing three teams in good form and at the top of the table it is perhaps understandable.  But these are worrying times for Middlesbrough they are the only team who has lost points compared to last season for three consecutive months and if they lose 8 points in every 11 games compared to last season through to May they will end the season on 18 points.

Middlesbrough have improved on only one result from last season (August's win at Fulham), five results matched last season and five were worse than last season.
