The big game of this round is at the bottom of the table where Charlton (18) host Wigan (16) and a home win would push Alan Pardew's new team to the brink of safety. Liverpool (4) play Arsenal (3) in a match that sounds like it should decide something - but a third place decider was not what either team anticipated to be fighting for at this stage of the season. The league leaders, Manchester United (1) host Blackburn (10) whose manager is now favourite to take over at Old Trafford next time the job comes up for grabs. Chelsea (2) will be expecting to win at Watford (20). And West Ham (19) will be hoping that Middlesbrough (12) remain generous after last week's furore over Manchester City (15).

Bolton Wanderers (5) vs Sheffield United (17), KO 15:00
Bolton's recent form has seen them drift so far away from the top four that a sixth place finish would now be accepted with some haste. But with Bolton now just three points clear of eighth placed Reading they need to start winning their home games. The Blades have a decent away record managing to glean ten points despite scoring only seven goals - but Neil Warnock's recent comments betray a tension in his team. Bolton will start as overwhelming favourites.PREDICTIONS

Charlton Athletic (18) vs Wigan Athletic (16), KO 15:00
This is a relegation six-pointer that will define the season for several teams. If Charlton win then they could be a point awat from safety - and certainly no more than three because they will have moved that close to Wigan. Wigan are a good away team and have been finding form as their players have recovered - this is not as easy as some Charlton fans might hope.PREDICTIONS

Fulham (14) vs Portsmouth (9), KO 15:00
If results go against them Fulham could end this weekend just four points off the drop - which is no reward for Chris Coleman, who pound-for-transfer-pound really should have a shot for manager of the season. Portsmouth are on the drift and a UEFA Cup place is now starting to look unlikely. Fulham couldn't ask for a more likely home win.PREDICTIONS

Liverpool (4) vs Arsenal (3), KO 12:45
Third versus fourth should be more exciting than this but with Manchester United 20/21 points distant this weekend could see even a mathematical interest in the title taken from Liverpool - and Arsenal are hardly much better placed. An Arsenal win - and they have done well against Liverpool this season and they will have plenty of breathing space to finish third; whereas a Liverpool win would make it a 50/50 affair. The probability is that this will be a tactical battle with few chances.PREDICTIONS

Manchester United (1) vs Blackburn Rovers (10), KO 15:00
Manchester United are six wins shy of being crowned champions - but Blackburn usually do well against United and with injuries affecting every area of the pitch this is hardly an easy fixture. United have played so well this season that games like this have often been ended as contests in the first half. But with Hughes starting to think about taking over at Old Trafford this could be a day he makes a play.Manchester United vs Blackburn Rovers: spread betting - can McCarthy spring another surprise?
