Hull City: Premier League preview and prediction 2008/9

Three promotions in five seasons has seen Hull move from League Two to the Premier League - a more than remarkable feat, but one that any reasonable judge will expect to end here. Like the housing market analysts may suggest that Hull are due a correction; just one season in the top half of the Championship (the previous two saw finishes of 21st and 18th) sees them promoted - it sounds just a little too quick.

Of course some teams have arrived in the division with no pedigree and stuck around, like Wigan currently and before them Wimbledon and Coventry City; can Hull pull off such a trick?

TRANSFERS TO DATE Ins: Peter Halmosi (Plymouth), George Boateng (Middlesbrough), Tony Warner (Fulham), Bernard Mendy (Paris St Germain), Geovanni (Manchester City), Craig Fagan (Derby), Anthony Gardner (Tottenham, loan).

Outs: Michael Bridges (Carlisle, loan), Henrik Pedersen (Silkeborg IF), David Livermore (Brighton).
