Hull City vs Middlesbrough: Premier League Prediction Panel 2008/9 - preview and predictions

Hull certainly like streaks, four wins followed by three defeats followed by three consecutive score draws gives Hull's form guide an odd look - WWWWLLLDDD.  Indeed it is about time to see which way Hull is going.  Despite six games without a win, Hull remain sixth - but the chasing pack has arrived and Hull will start to sink quickly if they can't turn those draws into wins.  The team news is good though with Andy Dawson and Dean Marney likely to return.  Will the speculation regarding Brown working again with Sam Allardyce at Sunderland affect the perma-tanned one?

Middlesbrough has few fitness concerns ahead of this, well, nearly-derby - certainly the closest thing that Yorkshire has to a top flight derby this season.  Boro has been in good touch recently the 1-3 home defeat at the hands of Bolton ended a five match unbeaten run and certainly softened the team up for an anodyne performance against Newcastle.  A win could lift Middlesbrough as high as seventh placed Everton - which is a handy position with fourth place undecided.

Hull has defied the odds all season - and will have to do so again here as Boro are match favourites.

Hull City vs Middlesbrough; Kick Off 3:00pm 6 Dec 2008
