Squarefootball's team of the month: November

Bookmark and Share

Arsenal, Spurs, Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool emerged from the month of November undefeated, but who has impressed Mitch Waddon enough to make it into his Team of the Month? Mitch reveals all.

November has come and gone and with 2011 nearly past us the year has seen its fair share of footballing history. An international break interrupted the month but with three sets of Premier League fixtures in November we are left with the difficult decision regarding our team of the month.

Sqf team of the month NOV

Goalkeeper: Michel Vorm (Swansea City)

What a purchase Vorm has been by Brendan Rodgers. The Dutchman has been in outstanding form since joining the Swans, only conceding one goal in November.

Right Back: Glen Johnson (Liverpool)

A fantastic month for the England international. Johnson scored a wonderful goal against old club Chelsea and remained strong on the right hand side, justifying his inclusion in the last England squad.

Centre Back: Fabricio Coloccini (Newcastle)

Another strong month for Newcatle and their captain. Although the Magpies suffered their first loss of the season to Manchester City, Coloccini remained composed and led the back line to keep goals conceded to a minimum.

Centre Back: Thomas Vermaelen (Arsenal)

The Belgium international announced his return to the Gunners' defence with a solid month, which included a couple of goals. The return of Vermaelen and Arsenal's turn in form is no coincidence.

Left Back: Leighton Baines (Everton)

A very good month for Baines, who is certainly pushing forward his claim for a place on the plane to next year's Euro tournament. His consistent performances, mixed with his range of crossing and passing sees the Everton number three earn his spot in our team of the month.

Right Midfield: Juan Mata (Chelsea)

Although not the best month for Chelsea, Juan Mata is looking better and better with each week he pulls on the Blue shirt. The Spaniard has been amongst the goals and the assists, earning him a spot in our monthly XI.

Centre Midfield: Scott Parker (Tottenham)

After winning the Premier League player of the month award, there was no way we could leave Scotty P out. The England cetainty has dominated the Spurs midfield since joining from West Ham and looks destined for the Euros next summer.

Centre Midfield: Lucas (Liverpool)

Oh how Liverpool will miss their Brazilian hardman for the rest of the season. The midfielder has been in stunning form for the Anfield club, but picking up an injury will be a massive blow for the Red's Champions' League push.

Left Midfield: Gareth Bale (Tottenham)

More goals and brilliant games for the Welsh Wizard. Bale continues to dominant down the left hand side for Spurs and shows why he's considered one of the best in the game.

Centre Forward: Emmanual Adebayor (Tottenham)

Four goals in three games gets Adebayor into our Team of the Month. A brace against Aston Villa preceded a double at West Brom to get the Togo International in the side.

Centre Forward: Robin Van Persie (Arsenal)

And finally, Mr Van Persie. The Dutchman continued his fine form in November to earn his spot amongst our select XI.

Manager of the Month: Harry Redknapp

The Tottenham boss has assembled an awesome squad at the Lane and they are winning games that in the past they would have struggled in. They have muscled in on the title race and Redknapp can do no wrong in north London.

Do you agree with the team of November? If not, why not post your alternative below? We'd love to hear from you!
