Liverpool v QPR: Can Carragher bow out with a win?

Bookmark and Share

After 16 years, 736 games, 11 trophies and 197 clean sheets in the Premier League can Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher bow out with a win in front of the Kop this afternoon?

Yes he can.

Liverpool take on relegated QPR this afternoon in a game that will be a great occasion for the one-club man. With nothing to play for but pride, Brendan Rodgers will surely tell his players to go out there and give Carragher a winning send off, which means bad news for Harry Redknapp and co.

The Reds have hit Newcastle for six and put three past Fulham in recent weeks but they haven't won at home since March 10, when they came from behind to dent Tottenham's Champions League hopes. QPR's last victory came on that same weekend, but they haven't won on the red half of Merseyside since 1991 and almost no-one sees that run changing today.

Liverpool v QPR; Kick Off 4pm May 19 2013
